This Is Us!
🌿 meet the founders of sweet Tea Summits
As you can discern from our choice to use our casual pictures rather than professional headshots, we value authenticity. Our hope for this page is that you get to know the real us!
We’re Jody and Laura Henry—a husband-and-wife team who passionately believe that growing older should be something to embrace and savor, not dread and endure. We also believe in growing older, with intention and purpose, not just settling in, watching others live while you wait to check off another year.
Sweet Tea Summits was born out of our collective love for our faith, family, and a mutual calling to serve others with heart, integrity, and good old-fashioned Southern hospitality.
Between the two of us, we’ve built and dedicated our entire lives to caring for the needs of other people—helping them feel seen, supported, empowered, and cared for.
Laura is a lifelong entrepreneur, leader, photographer, author, and transformational coach who has spent decades doing her best to inspire others to create lives that are lived on purpose, with purpose and joy. Her special gift is seeing what is possible for people, both within them and in their lives. When others say, “It can’t be done,” Laura says, “Why not?” and then finds a way to make it happen!
Jody is a natural protector and caregiver, with a long career in customer service and operations, known for his problem-solving skills, steady leadership, and kind, genuine spirit. His smile and charisma are the reason why when he enters a room, the energy changes! With his laidback, easygoing ways, he can easily pivot when needed, making him an excellent partner in the trenches. Plus, you can always count on him to lighten your mood and generate a smile.
Jody’s special gift is his ability to really see people; to hear their wants and needs and then find creative ways to connect them with people and resources who can help to meet each.
But what really brought us here is life itself—the lessons, the losses, and the laughter that taught us what truly matters.
Together, we’ve weathered seasons of tremendous loss, transitions, and growth that have deepened our empathy for those navigating transitions of their own. Through every challenge, we’ve learned that joy doesn’t come from having it all together—it comes from connection, faith, and living authentically, with intention, purpose, and joy.
Sweet Tea Summits was born from those lessons. We have seen so many, too many, capable, independent seniors—especially women—quietly carrying more than they should. They had become nearly invisible simply because they built a life teaching others they could take care of themselves, and as such, people stopped asking them if they were okay or needed a bit of help. They weren’t asking for handouts; they just needed helping hands and hearts that were compassionate and understanding without being condescending. We felt called to stand in that gap, to serve those experiencing “Invisible Women Syndrome.” Yes, that is actually a thing!
Our mission is simple: to ease the burdens of aging for single women with dignity, respect, and honor. Whether that means managing a move, organizing a home, simplifying a to-do list, or curating a meaningful life experience, we are ready to show up with the same care and commitment we extend to our own family members.
Because to us, this isn’t just business—it’s our ministry; it’s what we were born and gifted to do! It’s faith in action.
It’s our way of inspiring and empowering and underserved and often undervalued segment of our population, to savor the sweetness that aging out to be!
Our joy is born from the joy of those we get the privilege to support.
